WHO IS DANIEL?
PROFILE
Data engineering leader with 15 years of enterprise experience and a growing obsession with building AI-native applications. I've shipped production AI tools spanning investment research pipelines, compliance automation, and portfolio intelligence — built from scratch using modern LLM APIs, TypeScript, and Next.js.
My conviction: context silos are the next frontier in enterprise intelligence — the same problem organizations spent decades solving for data, now happening all over again with AI.
I'm a conceptual thinker and strategic builder who leads teams, shapes architecture, and asks the necessary questions. I'm looking for a senior, remote-friendly role where deep data foundations, hands-on AI building, and real leadership experience all come to bear.
ABOUT ME
I'm creative and always have new ideas — I can't really turn it off. This is one reason I love working with AI: it makes bringing those ideas to life faster and easier. I have a big-picture, strategic mindset.
I've been a musician since childhood and love the way music combines art and science. It shows up in the way I think — the rhythm, the structure, the progression, the conclusion.
I'm sensitive and I know it. It's not a weakness I'm hiding — it means I notice things, I take feedback seriously, and I genuinely care about the people I work with. I've made an intentional decision to build strength around that part of me, rather than becoming calloused. It means working in the wrong environment costs me more than it might cost someone else. I'm looking for the right fit.
WHAT I AM / WHAT I'M NOT
I'd rather give you the honest version than the polished one.
WHAT I AM
- ›A systems thinker. I understand problems at the architecture level before I touch a line of code.
- ›Hands-on. I don't just design — I build.
- ›A leader who stays technical. I can run a team and still know what's in the query plan.
- ›Genuinely curious — even obsessed — with AI. As an accelerator to productivity, it has no equal.
- ›Self-directed. I do my best work with a clear goal and the autonomy to figure out how to get there.
- ›Someone who tries to look ahead and ask the right questions.
WHAT I'M NOT
- ›Happy with tedious, mindless busywork. This is another reason I love AI.
- ›A front-end pixel pusher. I can build UI (with AI's help), but it's not my strong suit.
- ›Detail-oriented. Retention of facts is not my strength — I'm much more of a conceptual thinker. I don't perform particularly well in "test-your-knowledge" type interviews.
- ›Looking for just any job. I'm looking for the right one — a place where this particular combination of skills and perspective actually fits.
- ›A pushover. I'm flexible, but I'll stand my ground if I think a significant misdirection is imminent.
